Palm Pre with US 3G gets certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance
Ever since it was first announced at CES, people have been clamoring for a GSM version of the Palm Pre. About a month back we got our wish, but unfortunately the GSM Pre as we knew it did not include US 3G. We say ‘knew’ because the Wi-Fi Alliance recently certified a new variant of the Palm Pre, the P100UNA, complete with 850/1900MHz UMTS/HSPA. Wooo. Ordinarily we would assume this is a good indication that the Pre will be hitting up AT&T or Rogers after Sprint and Bell’s respective exclusivity periods are over, but considering that TELUS is
T-Mobile to penalize tech-inept with BS paper billing fee

As fully immersed in technology as younger generations in the US are these days, we sometimes forget that there are still generations and demographics in this country who simply haven’t latched on to tech the way we have. The spunky bunch above who have gathered around a laptop to check out BGR simply aren’t representative of older generations and let us not forget the countless people in this country who cannot afford computers. The simple truth is that there are a magnitude of reasons why someone might not own, use or even know how to use a computer. Apparently however, T-Mobile thinks its poor and elderly postpaid subscribers should be penalized for being unwilling or unable to embrace a digital

One of the new additions to iTunes is said to include Blu-ray support which lines up nicely with a recent Apple Insider report about Apple integrating Blu-ray into their new iMac line-up. Something else that will most likely make a bunch of people happy is that we’ve been told iTunes 9 will finally include the ability to visually organize and arrange your iPhone and iPod touch applications. Something that wasn’t so clearly described was some kind of Twitter/Facebook/Last.fm
AT&T’s upcoming Samsung A797 gets pictured, sold on the cheap
Among the bevy of handsets listed in our pre-launch list from this weekend, the Samsung A797 is one of the phones we knew very little about. Rest easy though, AT&T subscribers — as is always the case, it’s only a matter of time. It turns out some apparently unknowing Atlanta native managed to snag one of these bad boys early and since he is on his way over to Sprint, he’s dumping the A797 on Craig’s List. For $115. Oops. Beyond the form of the handset, there are only a few tidbits to be gleaned from the images. We know it’s a feature
