Problem
One day Akbar was simply chatting with his friends… And he had around him the very best, wisest, most creative people chosen from every part of the country. They were speaking, Akbar slapped Birbal – for no apparent reason. Now one could not slap the Emperor back, but the slap had to go somewhere.

Birbal’s Solution
So Birbal slapped the person who was standing right next to him.
Everybody thought, “This is strange!”

There was no reason in the first place for Akbar’s slap. Suddenly, as if some madness had seized Akbar, he had slapped poor Birbal. And the victim also reacted strangely. Rather than asking, “Why have you slapped me?” he simply slapped the man by his side! And that man, thinking perhaps this was the norm at the Court, slapped the next person. In a chain reaction, the slap went all around the Court.

That night, Akbar’s wife slapped him! And he asked, “Why are you slapping me?”
She said, “What a question – a game is a game.”
He said, “Who told you that this is a game?”
She said, “We have been hearing the whole day long that a great game has begun in Court. The only rule is you cannot hit the person back, you have to find somebody else to slap. And somebody has slapped me – so your slap has come back to you. The game is now complete!”

Management Moral
All kinds of fashions, fads, and practices have strange, unexpected beginnings. A small gesture can have snowballing consequences. In this big world, thousands of insane games are going on in which we all are participants. The slap(or for that a good deed) is going to come back sooner or later. Where else will it go? Good deeds will bring you its rewards, however unexpected, and your misdeeds will eventually get you the punishment you deserve.

Perhaps you have forgotten when you started it all. The world is big; it takes time to return. But everything comes back to its source – that is one of the fundamental rules of life, not just the rule of any game.

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, “With all your money you give me a Bible?” and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things. When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father’s important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words…PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God’s blessings because they are not packaged as we expected?

You enter the word “application” in Google and you are loaded with tons of search results. Out of these tons of applications, some are way too awesome to avoid, some are good, some are use and throw and some are not even a worth mentioning.

So, how do you decide that a particular set of applications are just great. As far as I have the experience and knowledge in IT industry for more than 15 years now, I can say that these great applications carry a common set of traits which makes them a huge success.
Some of these traits are listed here:

1. Exclusive – The utmost important trait before you start developing your application. Give your users an app that they never experienced before and a reason to download your app now. Being unique is the key to make your application a hit. No duplicates are ever given a click.

2. Simplified – Is your app clean, easy-going, simple and effort-less? Yes, then you are a step further to building a great app. This is one of the traits that leads to failure if users did not find the application user-friendly. The simpler, the better.

3. Fitness – This trait defines the functionality, its integration with the resources, support for trouble-shooting and its inter-operability. Fitness is the backbone of any app for giving best performance. Keeping these points checked, your 6-pack “app” hero is ready to rock and roll.

4. Sociable – Users love to connect via apps. Communication networks and social media on your apps are capable to give richer and better experience to users. So allow your great apps to connect and communicate.

5. Optimize – This trait covers all the technical ingredients your app must have. Appropriate memory usage, bug-free, security, portability, robustness and efficiency.

Be it any domain or category developed, keeping the above traits in mind while developing any app, will be a sure shot success.
All the best developers for developing great apps!

IndiaNIC is a family of talented 500+ professionals, bonded since last 13 years. Its a bond that we not only share within us as employees, but also with our esteemed clients and customers.
Together we are able to maintain this progress and continue to grow it further.

In achieving this, there are many factors involved, But there is one that I believe plays an important role is infrastructure.

As IndiaNIC is an offshore development company, it is very important for me to make sure that any project needs are fulfilled from the start to the end. And this happens only if you have good infrastructure. Well, let us see some points that, Why infrastructure plays an important role?

1. With good technological infrastructure, comes a satisfaction that the project taken will be accomplished in a efficient manner. This is one of the basic things to get a check on.

2. Next comes, the resources. Resources includes experienced and skilled professionals, well-developed teams to handle every step of projects, latest technology and up-to-date platforms to develop projects at its best.

3. Infrastructure also holds well-maintained office facilities, company’s monitoring and communication systems and multiple domain services. All these define a company with experts in the industry.

Any company keeping all these points a check, will surely have the capability of handling, executing and delivering any project with minimum cost, time and hassles.

And I can say that IndiaNIC is one of those companies, that has the best of infrastructure, which plays a vital role in its development.

Now, that is what I would say how infrastructure holds a key component in development of any company. And also, I would like you to have a virtual tour of IndiaNIC Infotech in this video. Do share your opinions!

A new development platform has just been added in the bundle of IndiaNIC services – Windows 8. Our developers are eagle-eyed. They are always super-enthusiastic for developing and experimenting new platforms as early as possible. And they did it again.

Metrogram Live and Flight Locator

As the name of blog says, Le premier et Le meilleur, it truly defines these two applications. The first and the best!

Metrogram Live and Flight Locator have been first of applications that are developed on Windows 8 platform from IndiaNIC. Metrogram Live serves the domain of social networking and photo sharing while Flight Locator serves the domain of locating and tracking flights with very much ease.

The domains of these applications are diverse but they do have something in common. And, What are they?

Both the applications have received ample of positive feedback’s from users.

Both the applications have left a mark on Windows 8 market and still continues to do so:

Metrogram Live being listed in Top Windows 8 application of the week with excellent ratings of 4.5, while Flight Locator is listed in top 10 category of free travel application with a rating of 3.5.

Top it all, both the applications are free!!!

As a user of Windows8 and true follower of best applications, I would say they are well-developed on the crisp design of Windows 8 OS that you might not want to miss.

Launch these applications on your devices and experience “Le premier et Le meilleur”.

Business travels are something I always look forward to. Definitely not a vacation, but a chance that gives me introductions to new people, in turn becoming my good friends, to reunite with esteemed IndiaNIC clients and also coming across a variety of cultures and customs. And this time it was “A month of Europe”!

Prague, Romania, Bucharest, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid!
A month full of meets, meets and meets in these beautiful places.
Business travels tend to be stressful and tiring. But this wasn’t the one I expected it to be.

Let me give you some interesting insights of the Europe’s Business trip

I was in opportunity to open a new branch office in Prague! Prague being the economic center of central Europe; opening a branch could be prospecting new business area for IndiaNIC. Well, fingers cross! Let’s see.

Seeing the extreme hard-work put in by our GameAnax to take gaming experience to another level, What could be a better surprise of Gaming Studio with Ducati in Bucharest. Yes! with Ducati…Still a surprise with work in progress.

And yes. A visit to branch office in Spain. It was great to visit my newly opened second home. Seeing the success and amazing response to Spain office undoubtedly gives happiness of milestone successfully achieved. Thank you all. Yet more to come.

The best part…meets with potential and existing IndiaNIC customers. IndiaNIC being a offshore IT company, its possible to connect via social platforms only. But these visits gives a chance to have a meet personally leading to more healthy business relationships.

Lastly, Europe has always been and always will be a great place to give a visit to. Climate, customs, culture, food, amazing places, friendly people and Europe’s scenic beauty attracts you to experience it at least once.

Briefing up my travel, it was memorable and fab.

Technology – An Inseparable form to humankind. With the term technology, comes in mind three things – Gadgets|Apps|Internet.

When you have these three things in hand, I don’t think anyone would give a second thought to say “I am everywhere”.

I am no celebrity! Not a popular Star, Politician, Talented Musician or Dancer!

But I can certainly create my fame and show my global presence through wonderful online tool – Social Media. Being in any part of the world, I can share my opinions, thoughts, give my viewpoints and express myself to the core. Social Media gives me power in my hands.

Anyone in this world can read about what I am…be it my friends, my colleagues, my cook, 7 billion+ world population or even Shri Pranab Mukherjee(if he is interested)!

Social media has immense power to create a brand. It is the gate to fame and influencing billions.
An emerging, free and ever-growing platform which signifies authority at your finger-tips. And the success to social media is involvement and participation to the maximum.

And this is my opinion to Social media empowering us all. What’s yours?

While a select few are born to lead, most others have to nourish their personality in order to make their leadership skills blossom. It takes years of hard work and skill building to become a natural leader. Whether one is responsible for sales, operations or technology, one needs to cultivate certain basic leadership skills to make a positive difference in the organization and to deliver positive results. Let’s take a look at ten management skills that can help one become a better IT manager.

1. Leading by Example

A lot depends on whether your team members and junior follows you because of compulsion or because of respect. You must behave as you expect your team members to behave, whenever possible. As your role is quite different from theirs, it may not be possible all the time. But if you want them to be dedicated, punctual and disciplined, you must also display such characteristics.

2. Building Rapport

You need to have a good vibe in your team. You need to build a good rapport with your colleagues, your team members and all the other people you come in contact with. Not only does this help build trust and promote cooperation, but it also increases the work efficiency of your whole team.

3. Building the Right Team

One disgruntled and negativity-filled person can disrupt the whole team. You must learn how to hire the right kind of person to build an efficient and vibrant team. Hire people with the right attitude, train them to fit the team perfectly and encourage them to expand their skills sets. Hire people who are better than you and learn to appreciate and benefit from their expertise.

4. Communicating Effectively

A lot of headache can be saved by being extra careful while communicating with your colleagues and team members. You must work hard on your ability to get your message across. Spell out every detail clearly and do everything you can to avoid any kind of misunderstanding.

5. Setting Clear Goals

Clarity in communication should be complemented by clarity of purpose. Ensure that every team member knows what he is working for. When people don’t see the whole picture, it is difficult for them to be motivated. Set clear goals for the team, and encourage your juniors to set clear goals for themselves.

6. Transforming ME into WE

The best results come through collective effort. While most people work for personal gain of some or other kind, it is essential that you help your team members build and believe in an identity as a team. At the same time, you need to see yourself as a part of the team too. When people work together to bring applause to the team, the results are truly amazing.

7. Maintaining Transparency

Before you ask someone to do a particular task, find out the important points about the task yourself. In case of technical tasks, it is extremely important to get a clear idea of what is expected before you pass it on to someone else. Also, send all the relevant information to the person who you’ve assigned on the particular task. Leaders who fail to do this earn the everlasting scorn of their team.

8. Encouraging Assertiveness & Discouraging Aggressiveness

A team that is made up of people who are afraid to express their views cannot perform at an optimum level. Similarly, a team that sees a lot of aggressive behavior cannot fulfill its potential. You must lead by example and encourage your team members to express their ideas freely, and you must show that it is okay to disagree. But you must put your foot down and send a clear signal that you’d not tolerate aggressive behavior.

9. Motivating & Staying Motivated

Generating passion for the work under hand can be a little difficult at times. If a leader seems uninterested in some work, the team is most likely to follow his lead. On the other hand, if you seem enthusiastic and motivated at work, chances are that the people working for you will also walk with a spring in their step.

10. Prioritization & Delegation

As an IT manager, you’ll often be confronted with scores of tasks that need immediate attention. At such times, you need to learn how to prioritize the tasks. Another important skill that many managers need to master is delegation. If you have a good team and are aware of the abilities of each member, you can delegate some of the tasks to them and make your life easier.
